Dog lovers are being invited to join 11-year-old Scarlett Berry at her charity dog show in Westhoughton’s Central Park.
The third annual Barking Berry’s Fun Dog Show will take place on Saturday, June 6.
Since she was 8, wannabe vet Scarlett has raised £12,500 for animal rescues selling her homemade dog biscuits, taking part in sponsored events and organising her shows.
Scarlett said: “I organised my first show in 2013 to raise money for animal rescue charities and to let people know that there are thousands of lovely animals in pounds and shelters all over the UK looking for their ‘furever’ home.”
The show usually raises £1,700 for the two central charities, with other rescues who have stalls on the day raising the same again between them.
This year Scarlett is raising money for Dogs Trust Merseyside and Homeless Hounds. There will be 50 stalls – including around 20 animal rescues, 15 fun dog show classes, agility and flyball, bungee trampolines, a bouncy castle, ‘have-a-go’ archery, face painting and glitter tattoos. There are also prizes for show winners and food for humans and dogs.
Entrance to the event, which runs from 11am to 4pm is free and you can find out all about the show here.
