We have good news for Hart Common residents.

The Tories tried to quietly sell land at Hart Street and Dorothy Rigby’s Farm.

Land at Hart Street

Your Westhoughton Liberal Democrat councillors recently wrote to residents to seek their views because Bolton Council did NOT want to tell you.

Westhoughton South councillor David Wilkinson said: “They would have made this sale in secret had it not been for our letter to residents. I shared the views of residents in my feedback to the council.

“We’ve now learnt that the Tory councillor who was planning to sell this green belt land is backpedaling fast and has now decided NOT to sell it.

“Thank you to all the residents who wrote back to us. Our political opponents wanted to stop us from informing you – and have even made a complaint about me sending you a letter about this important issue. We will not allow residents of Westhoughton to be silenced in this way.”

  1. Great news. Glad you brought it your attention. My main concern if building went ahead was where would residents park. Wigan Road is getting busier all the time HGVs and huge tractors up and down all day long. Residents would have to park on main road causing accidents as it is a very narrow road.
