Should Hart Common land be sold?

Bolton Council is selling land that it owns across Bolton. The latest wave of sales includes four pieces of land in Hart Common.

As your local Liberal Democrat councillors, Bolton Council has asked us for our views before they go ahead with the sale. We think it is only right that Hart Common residents have their say too – and we encourage you to do so using the form on this page.

The proposal includes land at Hart Street and Dorothy Rigby’s Farm, as shown:

The land at Hart Street would be sold unconditionally, which means it is likely to go for housing. There will be a “reliance of planning law to protect residents”. The farm, which is 4 acres, will be sold on a long leasehold with a restriction for grazing only.
