Westhoughton’s community college has been stripped of all its courses and there are fears that the centre will now shut.
The latest prospectus for adult learning courses from Bolton College does not feature a single course at the Westhoughton centre on Central Drive.
Westhoughton councillor David Wilkinson has challenged the college to be honest with residents and tell them what is going on.
David said: “The college tell me they are reviewing the provision of course and have not yet made a final decision, which I don’t believe for a second.
“I think that the college has decided to abandon Westhoughton and their latest course guide makes that clear.”

Other parts of the building are used, the latest being a youth project run by Bolton Lads and Girls Club.
There are also a number of other local people interested in using the premises if they become vacant.
David said: “Westhoughton is lacking in decent community facilities and it is vital that if the college pulls out that local people are giving the chance to run their own projects at the centre.”
David has been told by Bolton Council, which owns the building, that the college has not yet given notice to quit the building.
A spokeswoman for Bolton College said: “We are currently reviewing our course provision at our Westhoughton Centre and are consulting with staff, partners, community groups and the council to establish the right course offer for local people. Our centre staff and marketing team will communicate with local residents when a decision has been made.”
