A robotics firm based in Westhoughton has plans to expand its business.
UK Robotics, based at the old White Horse Sawmills, on Bolton Road, plan to replace the current workshop with a new building of a similar size.
The firm currently employs two people at the site, but an extra full time job will be created if the new building is granted permission by Bolton Council.
As part of their application, the company says: “UK Robotics provides software for robotics and automation. We specialise in software and automation solutions for the Life Science industry, in particular drug discovery and high throughput screening that aid in the discovery of new treatments and cures for serious illness such as Cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease and Diabetes.
“The company requires new workshop and office space to help the company grow and to meet the needs of our global client base. Over 90% of company revenue is derived from foreign companies and hence the company is a net exporter.”
