A new wine and cocktail bar for Westhoughton has been given the go-ahead by planners.

Bolton Council has granted planning permission for a former barbers in Market Street, which has been vacant for several months, to be converted into a town centre bar.

Plans were submitted by Scott Rothwell to convert the former Kal’s Barbers shop on Market Street into an “elegant” new bar.

The bar has permission to open from Monday to Friday 4pm until 1am and Saturday and Sunday 12pm until 1am.

The property has been empty since Kal’s moved into larger premises next door.

  1. I do hope that this is a success, despite Bar 7 further up Market Street remaining closed because it wasn’t a viable business.

  2. Pub trades dead .. 12 months the only thing going in there will be ghosts from the ghost town of takeaways and hair dressers.. you can’t have good old shops in market Street dew to these super stores taking all the trade an ounce this aldis built that will be even less trade in market Street. All these people on the council no matter what party are total pricks an not a clue what’s going on in this town .!. Any council jobs done aren’t worth a toss even subbed out poor road repairs every where you look some dicks thrown some tarmac in a hole an smacked it down with a spade it’s not even flat just shit work an these joker’s are getting paid.

    1. Couldn’t put it better myself!!
Bolton Council must be the worst in the UK
Time they started listening to the people of Westhoughton
