Westhoughton councillor David Wilkinson has called for an investigation into the repeated power cuts in the town.
Hundreds of residents were left without power again on Sunday from 4am, with the power cut reportedly setting of house alarms early in the morning as people slept.
Westhoughton has been hit by repeated power cuts in the last few months.
There are fears the town’s power infrastructure would struggle under the pressure of 4,000 proposed new houses after Labour town hall bosses called upon developers to suggest new developments sites across Westhoughton.
David said: “I would like Electricity North West to investigate why these power cuts are occurring with seemingly increasing frequency.”
