Parking fears amid plans for 21 houses at Park Road council depot

Fears that parking problems on Park Road could get worse have been raised as Bolton at Home plan to build 21 new houses at the former council depot.

Westhoughton town councillor David Wilkinson pointed out that there was no measurement of distances between the proposed homes and existing homes nearby, meaning they could not judge how badly it could affect the light for nearby properties.

He said: “Bolton At Home are the applicants so they could look at this design and location of the properties on that particular area of the site.

“There are a number of other issues. Parking in that area is very, very bad. On a good day, some of the roads around there still look like a battlefield.

“It is a reasonable request and I hope they have looked at it and made sure they addressed the concerns.”

  1. I am a resident on howarth Street and wonder if Bolton at home are already aware of the existing parking problems and that the proposals and plans will intensify already existing problems. Such as is there enough space for an ambulance to get through parked vehicles. Are the council aware a fire engine could not gain entry . I
Are health and safety standards being met which would be in the best interest of residents of the public and of new interests?
