Bolton Council is to splash out on a £120,000 makeover for a street in Horwich while roads in a worse condition in Westhoughton go untouched.
The roads and footpaths along Darley Street are to be completely resurfaced after Labour councillors rubber-stamped the plans.
But Westhoughton residents are left facing crumbling roads, including along bus routes like Washacre, and busy roads such as Church Street.
Councillor David Wilkinson, campaigner for Westhoughton, said: “You’ve said it yourself and you know it’s true, Westhoughton is forgotten.
“We will keep pushing for repairs until we are blue in the face. It’s just not acceptable that we pay our council tax and get nothing back in return.”
