Goal! Daisy Hill’s goalposts make a return

Westhoughton councillor Neil Maher with the new goal posts at St James’s

Goalposts in two Daisy Hill locations have been replaced thanks to your Liberal Democrat councillors.

The posts at Eatock Lodge and St James’s were both rotten and taken away.

Labour-run Bolton Council refused to fund new goal posts for local children despite allowing Japanese-owned NCP car parks to get away with £290,000 of payments.

But Liberal Democrat councillors Neil Maher and David Wilkinson agreed to use a fund designated for Westhoughton South ward.

Neil said: “I’m pleased that we’ve finally got new goalposts so the kids can continue playing football.”
